This is an introductory course about mental health and is suitable for those who wish to develop awareness level knowledge of mental health.

After attending the Mental Health Awareness course you will be to:

• Define the terms mental health, poor mental health and mental ill health.

• Explain what is meant by stress and know how to effectively manage stress.

• Know the common signs and symptoms of mental ill health and mental distress.

• Know what supports are available to you both internally and externally.

• Explain why selfcare is important to health and wellbeing.
