Why is it important to boost our mood regularly?

As humans our minds can tend to focus on the negative. Taking time to engage in activities that help boost our mood is not only good for our mental health but our physical health too.

Even small positive acts towards yourself or others can have a big impact on your overall wellbeing. Mood boosts involve the release of endorphins (AKA the pleasure hormone). They are extremely powerful and are the same endorphins that make you feel better and will also help you concentrate and feel mentally sharp for any tasks at hand. So, we’ve created this box which is full of products to help promote the release of these endorphins. You can thank us later!

Sound good? Great, well take a look below.

What is in the box and why?

  • The Genie Metal Scalp Massager

Ever wondered why head massages feel so good? It’s because the small muscles around your head respond well to touch. These sensations can help reduce feelings of stress and promote ones of relaxation. Aaaaah sounds like bliss!

  • Westlab Zen Cedarwood, Neroli and Sage Bath Salts (454g)

Epsom salts contain magnesium which is great for relaxation. Take that “you time”, you deserve it! Enjoy a nice warm Epsom salt bath, unwind and leave the chaos of the world behind. But remember the golden rule though...no phones allowed!

  • Raw Halo Vegan Dark; Salted Caramel Chocolate Bar (70g)

Not only does it taste yummy, but it can have a positive impact on your mood too. Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) can stimulate neural activity in the brain associated with pleasure and reward. Sounds like a tasty treat just got sweeter!

  • David Meowie Music Cats 100 Piece Puzzle by Galison Mudpuppy

Kids and grown-ups love them so.... These puzzles support the release of dopamine (AKA the feel-good hormone) whether it’s when you’ve finished it successfully, or even if you’ve just got one piece in the right place. So, in short jigsaws = a little mood boost for you!

  • LSW Morning Notes: 12-week everyday Wellbeing Journal

Journaling can help you prioritise problems, fears, and concerns whilst giving you the opportunity for lots of positive self-talk. This is a great way to relieve stress and promote a positive mindset. Now to find a pen that works!

  • Spark Wellness: 50 ways to feel your healthiest by Chronicle Books

It’s important that we are proactive when it comes to our mental health, and we should look to boost our mood whenever we can. Why not give these ideas a try and see how many of them give you a little boost.
